My wife, our two kids and I went to go pick up my medication today from the on-base pharmacy. On the way there we get into a bit of traffic and I notice this S.U.V. in front of us.
The first thing I think is, “Lol, gas prices go down and the S.U.V.’s come out of storage!”
And then I notice his bumper stickers. Now obviously this man has strong emotions tied into his political affiliation but…bumper stickers? And not just one, but…well count them.
Would you ever plaster your car with bumper stickers supporting something you feel passionate about?
Just a few feet down the road I see a man standing outside your typical tiny strip mall holding a sign. Now this sight is extremely common in San Antonio.
I’ve seen people standing outside in 105 degree weather in a full sized Big Foot costume to promote some pizza joints Big Foot special.
It might not anger me as much if the person holding the sign was an employee of the business but it never is. It is ALWAYS someone who lucks down on their luck. Poor. Perhaps homeless. Retarded. Who knows.
But it angers me to the point that I want to walk into those businesses and demand to see the manager, owner whatever and just get everything off my chest in a hopefully non-violent manner. It angers me that they would take advantage of someone by “hiring” them to hold their fucking obnoxious fucking signs on the side of a fucking 6 lane highway in the middle of the fucking summer when its 105 degrees out and no shade you worthless piece of fucking shit.
It angers me that in today’s so-called progressive society that these people are forced to degrade themselves, when you think about it, and sometimes putting themselves in life risking situations for a fucking paycheck that wouldn’t even cover the cost of filling up an average size car’s gas tank.
On a lighter note…
I’m taking a dump in the half finished bathroom after dinner at our favorite Greek restaurant when my wife walks by and goes: “Did you get my text?” And I’m like: “Dude, I’m taking a shit in a half-finished bathroom with the rollie pollies and spiders.” and she’s like “Oh, I figured you had your phone on you.” What the fuck? I’m not the big of a dork.
After I finish claiming the San Antonio Water System’s sewage plant for the sovereign state of Greece I go outside and get my phone from the vagon. When I get to my wife’s text I see this:
I applaud her on her ability to hold a camera phone steady while straining to keep her colon from dropping into the toilet.
I came across a fantastic article in the San Antonio Current:
In an editorial last week titled “Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss,” Austin-based journalist Alex Jones and partner Paul Joseph Watson cynically declared, “Mark our words — the causes that the liberal left has been fighting for over the last eight years will simply be forgotten just like conservatives were put to sleep when Bush came to power. Obama is the pacifier that the establishment needs to quiet the simmering anger amongst Americans that has been threatening to boil over. It will no longer be ‘fashionable’ to fight the police state amongst the political left.”
I thought about that for a long long time. I hope this does not happen. It can not happen.
I was quite surprised today when I came across a article discussing the recent study that suggests marijuana may be useful against drug-resistant staph infections The article was from early September and I still can’t figure out how I missed it. Any ways here’s an excerpt from the article:
Chemicals in Marijuana May Fight MRSA
Study Shows Cannabinoids May Be Useful Against Drug-Resistant Staph InfectionsReviewed by Louise Chang, MDSept. 4, 2008 — Chemicals in marijuana may be useful in fighting MRSA, a kind of staph bacterium that is resistant to certain antibiotics.
Researchers in Italy and the U.K. tested five major marijuana chemicals called cannabinoids on different strains of MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). All five showed germ-killing activity against the MRSA strains in lab tests. Some synthetic cannabinoids also showed germ-killing capability. The scientists note the cannabinoids kill bacteria in a different way than traditional antibiotics, meaning they might be able to bypass bacterial resistance.
Too bad its still illegal. We can change that. it is simply going to take work. If you want to know more about what you can do to help legalize marijuana check out: LeagalizationOfMarijuana.Com
